Lovingkindness Meditation:
This meditation helps to strengthen feelings of kindness and connection towards yourself and others. An opportunity to transform to a more open-hearted, nurture feelings of self-compassion, especially when going through periods of frustration and anger, where we may be self-critical. Loving-kindness meditation (sometimes called “metta” meditation) is a great way to cultivate our propensity for kindness. It involves mentally sending goodwill, kindness, and warmth towards others by silently repeating a series of phrases. It can also help us nurture a stronger sense of connection to the world.
Body Scan Meditation:
This meditation allows one to spend time in resting awareness of the body, appreciating all the parts working to keep us alive, and attuning to those places that need care and attention. In this practice, we cultivate the ability to be present with whatever is occurring in our body, using all of our senses. This body scan meditation allows us to come into direct contact with our inner experience of being in the body, feeling the changing nature of experience, and helping ground ourselves into a deeper sense of awareness.
Pausing for Presence (2 minute practice):
Breathing deep can help us stem the tide of stress and anxiety during the day. This breathing practice activates our nervous system, signaling it to rest and relax. What would happen if you integrated this wellness skill throughout the day? Integrating deep breath practice can be an anchor to bring you back into a sense of focused presence to help you reset during your day. When we pause, for even a minute and drop into present moment awareness, we have the ability to shift our perspective. Enjoy pausing for a moment of mindful presence with this breath-focused meditation.
Kindness is a passport that opens doors and fashions friends. It softens hearts and molds relationships that can last lifetimes.
